Located in Shippensburg, Shippen Hall is an existing 54,000 square foot, three-story building primarily used for student teaching. The planned 30,000 square foot addition was implemented to relocate the Rowland School Facility to Shippen Hall, to house students, teachers and professors. The addition and renovation was a joint effort by the University, the State System of Higher Education and the Governor’s “green” building program. The unique features of this project consist of an elaborate exterior structure utilizing masonry construction. Shippen Hall was registered as a proto-type project that will be used as a national standard for future projects within the governor’s council program.
