The LVHN Sports Performance Center at Schuylkill Haven Area School District is a 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art athletic and wellness facility designed to serve students, athletes, and the broader community. Its size and versatility make it one of the most advanced performance spaces in the region. At the core of the facility is a large indoor turf field that can be divided into two cross-court–sized spaces, accommodating football, soccer, track and field, cross country, marching band, and cheerleading. Two retractable batting cages expand the building’s capabilities even further, supporting year-round training for baseball and softball programs. The first floor features a fully outfitted weight room, while the second story is anchored by a 1/10-mile running track surfaced with high-performance materials. Additional training spaces with durable competition rubber flooring were included to host seminars, group classes, and specialized athletic instruction. Together, these elements create an environment suited for both high-level athletic development and everyday physical education. A defining aspect of this project is its focus on community access. The facility serves Schuylkill Haven students daily, yet its flexible design allows for evening and weekend rentals by outside organizations. District residents are also invited to use the track during designated hours at no cost, ensuring the center functions as a shared resource for wellness and recreation. Constructed with durability and adaptability in mind, the LVHN Sports Performance Center represents a long-term investment in both athletics and community health—a modern hub where students, families, and athletes alike can train, compete, and grow.
